Side+

Side+ (pronounced "side plus") is a website/app that the Sidemen have created to post additional content - for a fee of course. A Side+ subscription will run you about $10 dollars a month, or about $100 dollars a year, if you want to make a bigger commitment for a discount. Originally started in September of 2021, it is a very popular source of Sidemen content, despite the fact that it is some of the only content that is not for free.

So the big question is, is the subscription worth it?

Reasons to get Side+!

Well, let's look at what it offers first. The biggest thing that it offers is additional content. This comes in the form of behind-the-scenes and outtakes of their normal YouTube videos, fun mini-gameshows, a few long-form videos that are similar to their YouTube content, chances to win exclusive Sidemen merchandise or other rewards, and last but not least, the Sidemen's podcast.

As you can probably tell, this is not for anyone not already a big fan of the Sidemen, but let's pretend that you are.

While a typical Sidemen release on YouTube has a length of two hours or so, they film for at least double that, which means that for every video on the Sidemen channel (that has been posted after the creation of Side+), there are two hours worth of missing content, ranging from relatively boring scenes like setting up for the shot or hilarious mistakes, bloopers, essentially.

The additional min-gameshows and the few longer videos that they also post on Side+ are very similar to the normal stuff they put on YouTube for free, but still if you want to watch every single bit of the Sidemen that you can, this is perfect for you!

Then you have the reaaalllll exclusive stuff. As a Side+ member, you are automatically put into a raffles where you can win prizes, such as Sidemen merchandise that hasn't been released yet, money, expensive gadgets, or a chance to meet the Sidemen and even appear in one of their videos.

Continuing on, Side+ probably gets the most subscribers because it hosts the Sidemen's podcast, called "SideCast". On the podcast, as any podcast, they talk about a very wide variety of subjects, including their own content, to their fanbase and community, to dramas that are happening in the real world.

You may also want to look at the ratings and reviews of other people. According to the Side+ homepage, out of more that 22,000 ratings, Side+ averages a rating of 4.9 out of 5.

What do I rate Side+?

I personally rate Side+ relatively low compared to the ratings seen above. Personally, I think that Side+ is more for the diehard fans with too much time on their hands. The fans that want to hear and listen to the Sidemen's personal opinions on controversial topics on their podcast, or who want an extra five hours of Sidemen content to enjoy every week. While I do care about the Sidemen's opinions, they are not experts, and the Sidemen already pump out enough hilarious content for me to laugh at on YouTube to fill my time, so I have no real want or need to get the subscription. That's why I personally rate it a 3.5 to 4 out of 5.
